Understand what can be scanned.
File access permissions in macOS determine what the app can inspect.
Start with accessible locations
Choose a location with the folder picker. The app scans only files macOS permits it to read; it does not bypass access permissions.
Access protected folders
Reading protected locations or measuring Trash may require additional permissions. When needed, open System Settings from the app’s permission guide. You can start a basic folder scan after granting access in the macOS folder picker.
Cloud files and partial results
A cloud file’s logical size can differ from the space stored on this Mac. Check the result status when access is restricted or a scan is partial. Removing an iCloud local download is a separate action after upload confirmation.
